| Customer Reviews: The best accessory for my home March 8, 2006 A. Adeyi 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I recently recieved a package of the GE reveal lights (100 watt) and they are wonderful. The light isn't harsh compared to the GE softwhite 100 watt bulbs. The GE reveal light is a more natural, softer light source and it truly enhances whatever environment you put it in.
What a great replacement! March 23, 2007 Senor Zoidbergo (Washington D.C.) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I was skeptical that these would have a significant improvement over the usual soft white bulbs, but wow, the difference is amazing! The light is much cleaner, and less glare inducing, the 'whiteness' is incredible. It's very pleasing, I was impressed.
As a result, I've replaced every single bulb in my house, and am heading back to the store tomorrow to get more reveal bulbs!
Great product, very natural looking spectrum of light! March 23, 2007 Patrick D. Goonan (Pleasanton, CA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
These light bulbs are fundamentally different from other incandescent lights. The spectrum that they throw is much more natural looking than other incandescent bulbs and a magnitude of difference from flourescent. If you use them throughout your house, you will have nice lighting that feels better and more natural. I think they also make any decor look better. It's find it's a relatively low cost to improve the look of your home and to feel better. While OTT-lights are even better, they are quite a bit more expensive and less practical. I use these for spotlighting in an office and other more specialized applications. Highly recommended.
Lighting for portraits March 11, 2009 Fabian G. Ngo (Los Angeles, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
So I needed to scrap together a light set up from whatever I could find at the local hardware store to make a couple portraits. Picked these up because they were "Full Spectrum." I was a bit worried at first because the lights were on the warm side compared to true daylight (light temperature is somewhere around 3000K, I used 3300k for warmer skin tones). When combined with a dimmer switch, they tend to go more yellow at lower intensities but I assume this is the same for all incadescent lamps. When I reviewed the photos, these lights really do, as advertised, make colors "pop." These lights provide good color saturation and contrast compared to normal incandescent lights and even compared to my flash unit.
As an every day light, I prefer flourescents for energy efficiency. But as an incandescent, I see how these could be pleasant once your eyes adjust to the light warmth in the color. If you are looking for a "full spectrum" flourescent, they do exist, just a bit hard to find at your local hardware store.
While not true "daylight," these lights do help bring out colors and are what I would use if I used incandescent lights.
Daylight ~5600k
Incandescent ~2700k
GE Reveal ~3000k
They're light bulbs. They light up. January 26, 2009 Jesper M. Johansson (Seattle, WA USA) 1 out of 6 found this review helpful
Not much to say. They light up. I tend not to use incandescent bulbs any more, but these are nicely daylight balanced, and work well in the Easy Bake Oven where they are used.
